On behalf of La Presidente Rhonda Henderson and the Old Spanish Days Board of Directors of Fiesta, we invite you to apply to participate in the 2017 Fiesta Parade.
 
El Desfile Histórico (Historic Parade) on Friday, August 4, 2017 at noon.
 
We are proud to be celebrating the 93rd anniversary of Fiesta in Santa Barbara. This is a community event honoring Santa Barbara’s rich multicultural heritage and diverse traditions. The theme of this year’s Fiesta is “Unity Through Community. The Fiesta Parade continues to celebrate Santa Barbara’s history from the early time of the Chumash through the Spanish Explorers, the Rancho Period, the building of the town, the turn of the Century, and the 1920s and 30s. Please dress in costumes appropriate for this theme and time period.
 
The deadline for applications is May 14, 2017.  The Old Spanish Days Parade Committee will review your application and all decisions made by the Committee are final. Entries in the Parade are by invitation only. The committee reserves the right to invite only those groups whose attire and behavior is deemed appropriate. The Group Leader is responsible for the appearance and behavior of the entire group.
 
Notifications of acceptance for the 2017 El Desfile Historico Parade will be mailed out on or before May 30, 2017.
 
Important dates to remember
  • May 14, 2017 - Completed Application Due
  • May 14, 2017 - Application Fee and Stall Fees Due
  • May 14, 2017 - Stall Fees Due
  • May 30, 2017 - Acceptance Letter Mailed Out
  • June 20, 2017 - Insurance and Signed Waivers of Liability Due
  • July 04, 2017 - Parade Packet Mailed Out
  • August 4, 2017 - Parade Day

Here are a few items we would like you to keep in mind going forward:
 
New Application Fee:
Riding Group $150.00 per entry 
Walking Group $150.00 per entry
Carriage / Wagon $150.00 per entry
 
Returning Application Fee: (been in the 2014, 2015, or 2016 parade )
Riding Group $100.00 per entry 
Walking Group $100.00 per entry
Carriage / Wagon $100.00 per entry
 
Stall fees are as follows: available at Earl Warren Show Grounds if needed. 
$85.00/stall if paid in advance with your application 
$175.00/stall if paid upon arrival at Earl Warren Show Grounds
 
Float Application
Float: $250.00  
Float Clean up deposit: $750 (returnable)
 
Insurance Fee:
Insurance $200 per entry
