Emergency Youth and Child Care Inquiry for Healthcare, Disaster Service Workers, and SFUSD Educators - Grades 1 to 5 ONLY

The Recreation and Park Department (RPD) offers a limited number of spaces (120) for Emergency Child and Youth Care, with priority for San Francisco Resident health care workers and disaster service workers who regularly attended Emergency Child and Youth Care in the Spring 2020 (over 60% attendance).  If there is space remaining after allocations to returning families, space will be available to other eligible participants.

The sites that will be offering Emergency Child and Youth Care in the fall are: Glen Park Rec, Hamilton Rec, Potrero Hill Rec, Richmond Rec and Sunset Rec.

There is a fee for Emergency Child and Youth Care, and scholarships are available for families who are eligible under RPD guidelines.

Please note that a significant number of RPD resources will be diverted to Community Learning Hubs, a Citywide, neighborhood-based strategy to support children, youth, and families during the school year. The Hubs will provide support for students who are utilizing SFUSD’s Distance Learning Curriculum, and will prioritize children and youth with the highest need, particularly low-income youth and those who are part of the City’s most vulnerable populations. For more information about the Community Learning Hubs, please visit the Community Learning Hub page on the SF Department of Children, Youth, and their Families’ website.
