3M STEM Grant Application

As part of a generous gift to establish an endowed gift fund from the 3M Foundation, the 3M Student-Faculty Collaborative Research Grant supports student-faculty collaborative research in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). This grant supports students as they develop laboratory and leadership skills for graduate school and professional careers, while helping faculty advance their research or pilot new projects. 3M funds provide up to $5,000: $2,000 to the student researcher, $1,000 to the faculty mentor, and $2,000 for supplies and research expenses. Additional funds (not to exceed $100) may be available to cover the costs of preparation of posters and related presentation materials for The Sr. Seraphim Gibbons Undergraduate Symposium to celebrate scholarship and collaborative research.

All St. Catherine University faculty members are eligible to apply, including adjunct faculty on contract. Priority will be given to ranked faculty who have not received a 3M grant within the past two years.

Applications are accepted on a rolling deadline.

The review committee is made up of STEM faculty appointed by the School of Humanities, Arts and Sciences (SHAS) Dean. The committee will review applications and select grantees. SPREE will notify applicants of their award status approximately three weeks after the submission deadline.

Applicants should follow the established application guidelines.
