What is Prime Video LTA Youth Girls?

‘Prime Video LTA Youth Girls’ is a programme designed to inspire thousands of new girls to play tennis in a fun and friendly coaching environment. The programme is funded by the reinvestment of Prime Video’s US Open broadcast fees from Emma Raducanu’s historic 2021 final. The programme can only run if you, as a coach, are willing to run girl-only sessions to recruit more girls into the sport, giving them the skills to play tennis for life.

Tennis has one of the highest female participation rates, but the gender gap remains a significant issue. Research suggests that for girls who are new to sport, ‘girl only’ sessions are more effective in attracting and retaining them.

What do I have to do?

- Attend the LTA's webinar on running the programme

- Take the LTA's online course on coaching girls (to be released in 2024)

- Run a 'Prime Video LTA Youth Girls Intro' course (6 sessions total) for new girls aged 4-16. The course can be delivered over 6 term time weeks or during a holiday camp

- Run a 'Prime Video LTA Youth Girls Follow On' course (6 sessions total) for new girls aged 4-16. The course can be delivered over 6 term time weeks or during a holiday camp

- Run a ‘Girl, Set & Match’ Team Challenge festival to introduce the girls on your courses to competition

- Promote your courses and festivals to your local community

- Attend the LTA's 'Coaching Female Players: From Physique to Technique' workshop during 2024

What is in it for me?

Who are Prime Video and the LTA looking for?

Prime Video and the LTA are looking for passionate and motivated coaches who can build confidence and drive enjoyment for girls in tennis. Coaches will be responsible for managing and delivering the girl-only group coaching sessions to a high standard using the LTA Youth curriculum. The LTA will assess applications from eligible coaches against criteria which considers: your understanding of working with girls and your passion, motivation and commitment for growing female participation.

To be considered for the programme, you must meet the below requirements. Please tick each requirement that you meet.

You must: *

Be qualified as a Level 2 coach, or higher

Be LTA Accredited or LTA Accredited+

Be trained in the delivery of LTA Youth, and familiar with its principles

Work at an LTA Registered Venue

Have capacity at your venue(s) for an increase in number of players

Have your venue's (and head coach's, if applicable) approval and support of being in the programme

Be willing to use ClubSpark for the purposes of this programme
