Participant Information

Have you been inspired by our Major Events, the Paralympics, by one of our players or even just want to give a new sport a try? If yes, we would love to see you at one of our Wheelchair Tennis Initiative days.

Whether you are an experienced player or a complete beginner, the Wheelchair Tennis Initiative  will provide inspirational and aspirational experiences to start your journey into Wheelchair Tennis.

Our Wheelchair Tennis Initiative aims to provide you with a visible and seamless route up each age and stage of our pathway from participation at grassroots to elite performance with the opportunity to represent Great Britain at Major Events and Paralympic Games.

Within our sport we have exceptional role models, including: Alfie Hewett, Gordon Reid, Lucy Shuker, Jordanne Whiley and Andy Lapthorne. They started at the exact same position as you today and have gone on to achieve major Grand Slam and Paralympic titles.

The day will be led by experienced and passionate LTA Wheelchair Tennis coaches where you will learn and develop new skills and attributes in a fun, inclusive and enjoyable environment.

To help you on your tennis journey, we will ensure that you are given suitable and appropriate signposting opportunities so you can keep playing. Our staff will be on hand throughout to provide support and assistance to any questions or queries you may have.

If you have any questions prior to the day please contact our Wheelchair Performance Team on: disabilitytennis@lta.org.uk

We look forward to welcoming you to the day and see you on court!
