LifeSouth’s Youth Grant Program supports non-profit youth organizations in the community by providing reimbursement to those programs that host blood drives and recruit blood donors. The program helps educate youth about the importance of blood donation and provide lifesaving blood components to patients in the community.
Eligible groups or organizations must focus on community youth and cannot be a part of a for-profit entity. For example, groups that may qualify are a youth softball team, a boy scout troop, a high school band, or Junior ROTC. Youth groups must apply and be approved by LifeSouth to host a blood drive to receive the Youth Grant Program reimbursement. Upon approval, the youth group will work with LifeSouth to schedule the date and location of the blood drive. The approved youth group is expected to recruit donors, including adult friends and family members, both before and during the blood drive event. LifeSouth can help provide recruitment and educational materials about blood donation.
Youth groups wishing to participate in this program must submit an online application and will be notifited of approval or denial for participation in the program within 10 business days of submission.
