Learn about the "magical" world of dragonflies and damselflies and go on a short hike to take some pictures! A local Naturalist and photographer will tell you some cool things about these flying creatures and then give some photography tips as you search for live specimens to *digitally capture.
There is no extra cost for this program but valid Day-Use Passes are required for all adults 13 and over. Reserving your Day-Use Pass in advance is recommended especially on busy weekends and Holidays.
Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the scheduled activity start time. Parking should be available in the Day-Use Area but if not, back-up parking is available at the North Fishing Pier parking lot.
Meet: At the Day-Use Area at 8:45am the day of the program
Expect:
- Easy activity in the great outdoors.
- Small group instruction and guidance
- short hike along the Day-Use Area
- Possible cancellations due to weather
What to bring:
- Water
- Camera-photographer will focus on DSLR but at the very least you should have a point-and-shoot or good phone camera
- Hiking shoes
Note: Pets and children under the age of 5 will not be allowed to participate.
•This event is weather dependent. Rain, lightning within 10 miles of the Park, or sustained winds of 10mph or gusts of 15mph or greater will result in cancellation of the program.
