Working with Wild Woods

Explore the forest in a new way. Learn about identifying and using native trees from the bark to the heartwood.

Join us for a special program about Lower Rio Grande Valley native trees and woodworking.  Learn about several native trees through a short walk and talk in the park and several hands on activities.  Gain skills in tree identification and knowledge in woodworking with the heartwood.  Find your way into the wonderful world of wild woodworking.

  • Meet: Headquarters, Tram Turnaround

  • Bring: Water, weather appropriate clothing
                 
  • Cost: Entry fee is $5 for adults and FREE 12 & under (Park entry free with Texas State Park Pass.).
