Discoveries in the Dark

Join a ranger on a short 1 mile hike of Turks Cap trail. Learn about the different adaptations nocturnal animals have, and which ones call Goose Island home!

Meet: Turks Cap Trail parking lot near site #157

Bring: water, bug spray, comfortable walking shoes, and a red light flashlight is ideal so our eyes can adjust. Dress for the weather.

FYI:

  • Children must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the program.
  • Program is free with park entrance ($5/person, children 12 & under are free) or Texas State Parks Annual Pass.
  • Groups larger than eight please contact Ranger Sara for a private event (sara.rock@tpwd.texas.gov)

  • Program may be cancelled if no participants are present within 10 minutes of the start time, or in the case of inclement weather.
