First Day Birding

Start your year off right by choosing to be outside! Join in a years-long tradition of participating in a "First Day Hike".
 
Come along with our birding park hosts on the electric tram in search of Goose Island's resident and migratory birds. No birding experience necessary! We have a limited supply of binoculars for those that do not have their own.
 
When: 8:30-11:00am
Where: Meet at Day Use
Bring: Weather appropriate clothing, bug spray, water, binoculars, camera (optional)
 
FYI:
- Children must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the program. Children under two years of age must be seated on the lap of a guardian.
- Pets are not allowed on the tram.
- Program is free with park entrance ($5/person, children 12 & under are free) or with a Texas State Parks Annual Pass.
- Large groups please contact Sara Rock (sara.rock@tpwd.texas.gov) for a private event.
- Program may be cancelled if no participants are present within 10 minutes of the start time, or in the case of inclement weather.
