The ITS Heartland Annual Meeting attracts transportation professionals from the five-state Heartland region and beyond. The Annual Meeting is an opportunity to share the latest ITS technology, solutions, and regional traffic projects and to further promote expanded ITS deployment, operation, and use.

Invitation to Submit an Abstract

The ITS Heartland Annual Meeting Planning Committee invites you to submit an abstract for presentation at the 2025 ITS Heartland Annual Meeting. Presentations should include success stories, lessons learned, and demonstrated collaboration on projects and ongoing transportation programs and initiatives in any of the categories provided.

The ITS Heartland Abstract Committee is specifically interested in:

  • Crash, WWD, RWIS, and/or Other Detection Solutions (including rural applications)
  • Data in ITS Applications - AI, Data Sharing, Big Data (such as hard braking or near miss) etc.
  • Intelligent Work Zones

Get creative with your ideas! Select the option to put together a panel discussion based on your topic of interest or select a shorter presentation with more time for audience discussion and interaction.

  • Crash, WWD, RWIS, and/or Other Detection Solutions (including rural applications)

All abstracts must be submitted on or before, Friday, January 10, 2025.

Abstracts must be under 350 words and copied into the form below. All submissions will be reviewed by the Abstract Committee and authors will be notified on or around February 1, 2025. 

Questions should be directed to Kelsey Farago of Meetings Northwest at kfarago@meetingsnorthwest.com. The final program will be posted after the submission deadline and the abstracts have been evaluated.

Web Posting Agreement

The ITS Heartland Annual Meeting Planning Committee would like to publish all presentations to the conference website following the meeting.

Primary authors are asked to grant permission to the ITS Heartland Annual Meeting organizers to post their presentation (in written and/or audio form) to www.itsheartland.org.

Additionally, primary authors are asked to supply (1) written permission (if necessary) from the copyright holder and (2) an electronic copy of their presentation; so that the ITS Heartland organizers may publish any copyrighted or previously published material.

By agreeing, primary authors are also verifying they are authorized to submit this presentation for posting on the ITS Heartland website.
