Welcome to the Extended Learning Programs!  We are so glad that you are interested in taking a certification course, training program or college course that will help you prepare for a future job.  

The extended learning programs are designed to help increase awareness of career options and the academic, technical and employability skills that align with many types of jobs within different career fields. 

The programs may be offered during the regular school day, after school and during the 2024 summer months. The programs will be offered on-site at district campuses, through on-line courses and programs offered at local industry and medical training facilities at little or no cost to RPS students. Additional programs may also be added to align with student interest and preparation for future careers. Grade levels have been noted for several programs.

Students may register for one course or program.  Upon completion of the first course and final assessments, students may have the opportunity to register for a second course, if funds are available.

Medical Courses

Certified Nurse's Assistant and Medical Courses at Petra Allied Health and NWACC

The Certified Nurse's Assistant (CNA) certification course is designed to prepare students for a several
types of jobs within the medical and health services career fields.
 
CNA Class at Rogers High School: The CNA classes at Rogers High School (Room 2050) will be held on Wednesday evening from 5:30pm-7:30pm and scheduled Saturdays from 9:00am-1:00pm. View/Download the 2023-2024 CNA Program Schedule for the CNA class that will be taught on the Rogers High School campus in Room 2050. Students must be 16 years old to take this course.

Transportation:  Students will need to provide their own transportation to Rogers High School or explore options to take a bus from another RPS high school campus in the afternoon. Students must provide their own transportation to off-site CNA class locations.

Cost: There is no cost for RPS students.  Textbook, workbooks and scrubs will be provided.

Health and Emergency Services

Certification Training Courses

The following Health and Emergency Services courses are available through both on-line and on-site programs. Students may begin these on-line courses at any time. Upon completion of the coursework, students will have the opportunity to take the certification assessment.
 
Wilderness First Aid Training- This training focuses on the important first aid skills that can be used to assist people who become sick or have been injured while hiking, camping, boating or other outdoor activities located in areas that are not close to medical assistance. 
 
Search and Rescue Skills and Careers (Provided by Benton County Search & Rescue)-This training introduces students to knowledge and skills needed for jobs and volunteer work on a Search and Rescue Team.
 
Forest and Land Navigation-In this course, students will learn how to use navigation tools and resources such as a compass and topographical map to navigate, or find their way, through forest, mountainous and other land areas.
 
Basic Life Support (CPR): coursework will be completed on-line and will be followed by an in-person CPR Skills Assessment.

The Emergency Medical Responder course will be offered at Rogers New Technology High School during the Fall 2023 Semester for high school credit.  2023-2024 EMR Class Schedule

Trade and Industry

Skilled Trades Certification Programs

The following Trade and Industry programs are available through both on-line and on-site programs. Upon completion of the coursework, students will have the opportunity to take the certification assessment.
 
Northwest Technical Institute will offer a Construction and Welding after school class this years.  These courses will provide students an opportunity to gain knowledge, skills and industry certifications that will prepare them for jobs in many of the skilled trades career fields.

The OSHA-10 and OSHA-30 certification training will be held at the RPS Professional Learning Center, located behind Rogers High School.  The address is 2100 W. Perry Rd. in Rogers.

Business and Industry Training Center Programs

The Business and Industry Training Center is located at 1490 June Self Drive in Bethel Heights/Springdale.
These training courses are offered to 11th-12th grade students.

The center offers several self-paced certification training includes on-line curriculum modules and "hands-on" tasks that are completed on a training simulator.  Students may schedule three-hour training sessions from 9:00am-12:00pm, 12:00-3:00pm, 3:00-6:00pm and/or 6:00pm-9:00pm. Students may begin scheduling the self-paced courses courses at any time.
 
Please select the certification course that you would like to register for, along with the time that would work best in your schedule. Courses are self-paced and can generally be completed within 48-72 hours of completed coursework and simulations.

FANUC Robotic Operator Certification Training

FANUC Robotic Operator Certification Training

The FANUC Robotic Operator Training is held at the Northwest Arkansas Regional RoboticTraining Center located at 21 W Mountain St, STE 226 in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

The FANUC Robotic Training courses will be offered to 11th-12th grade students.

The training is 35 hours and is held in one-week (Monday- Friday) training sessions.  Students may seek approval from building principal to attend the week-long training. Students will need to provide thier own transporation to and from the training center in Fayetteville.

Schedule: Class begins at 8am and ends at 4pm each day with mid-morning, lunch and afternoon breaks.  Students must attend all five days to be eligible for the certification.
