Dear Potential Counselors for Camp Kefli 2011,
Camp Kefli has always been one of our favorite aspects of Temple Isaiah’s youth programming and we look forward to another great summer.
Why apply to be a Camp Kefli Counselor?
Top notch counselors are what make Camp Kefli the best place to be in the last two weeks of summer. Camp counselors meet challenges, create and participate in unique bonding experiences and ensure a fun and safe experience for their campers. The task is mighty and quite exhausting at times but the payoff is great! Descriptions of the available positions are on the next page. Please read them carefully and think about the kind of work you would like to do. Camp is as much of a growth experience for counselors as it is for campers, and you can expect to learn leadership and interpersonal skills that will help you in future work and personal activities.
When is Camp Kefli?
Camp Kefli will take place August 8-12 (Session 1) and August 15-19 (Session 2). The two weeks of camp will be preceded by a staff training and teambuilding experience that is crucial in preparing us for the challenges of Camp.
When is Staff Training?
Be prepared for something totally fun this year! You can ask… but we probably won’t tell you what it is. The schedule is as follows:
|

|

|
|

|
All Staff Prep-Meeting 12:00-4:00 pm

The staff-training workshops and camping trip are mandatory. If you are unable to attend the staff training sessions, you must indicate and explain this on your application and we will try to accommodate your schedule. Applicants will get special consideration if they have demonstrated a high level of leadership skills at Temple Isaiah and are available for both sessions of camp as well as staff training.
How do I apply to be a Camp Kefli Counselor?
Please complete this online form by March 31st, the anniversary of Rabbi Forrest's Bat Mitzvah. Skype or in person interviews will be conducted on selective times and dates and will be scheduled after the application is completed. Please note that the Camp Kefli staff is assembled based on the number of campers expected to attend and we can not overstaff. We try to hire as many applicants as possible, but sometimes even qualified applicants may not be hired due to space limitations. Don’t be disheartened – there are always opportunities to get involved with the youth at Temple Isaiah.
We cannot wait to read your application and look forward to another summer of experienced and enthusiastic staff!
L’Shalom,
Rabbi Alissa Forrest Dan Lange
